Thirstday: Final Part Checklist

"Can you drive?" He asked

"I do, drive! In fact I miss driving. My car is in the talyer for the nth time again."

"Great!" Manual kasi ang sasakyan ko, kaya most of the time, nasa kambya ang right hand ko. I didn't mind really. He let go of my hand. Nagsimulang maglilikot ang kanyang kamay. He carresed my face, my neck, then my chest. He was unzipping my fly. Ang galing nya at ambilis in fairness! Praktisado, malamang. When it plopped out nagulat sya. Paano. I don't wear undies di ba? Wala na! Yumuko na sya.

Tangna! Disgrasya aabutin namin neto eh. When I attempted na ihinto sa gilid ang sasakyan, tumigil sya.

"Keep going, please... even if it means you have to slow down!"

Tangna! 1okph lang yata tinakbo namin eh. Putcha! Nakakapanginig. When I was about to come, he stopped.

"Wait... let me kiss you first. I won't be able to do so after this." Nagtaka ako. Hininto ko ang sasakyan and kissed him.

"Keep driving. Let me finish you off..."

He picked up where we left off. I understood kung bakit nya sinabing he won't be able to kiss me na after this. He swallowed. Just in time kasi, papasok na kami sa City Limits.

"God! That was crazy!" Sabi ko.

"Let's head home please. I will direct you were to go."

"Sorry...I can't. Baba na lang ako somewhere convenient. Cab na lang ako pauwi"

"Ahmmm... I'd like you to know where I live. Drive muna tayo there, then, we drive you home para alam ko din san ka nakatira."

WE? Aba'y binabakuran na ako ah!

Before ako bumaba sa harap ng gate namin nagtanong sya.

"Can I see you again tomorrow? Please?"

"Sorry, I can't. I'm leaving for manila later. Lunch time. Kaya nga I can't sleep at your place. I haven't packed my stuff yet."

"Awww... when will you be back? Hatid na lang kita sa airport mamya."

"It's ok. Tired ka na. I'll see you when I get back. You have my number. You know where I live."

"Favor pwede?"

"What?"

"Behave sa Manila, pwede?"

Haynaku! I doubt... behave? I'm sure!

Plus! Dadalhin daw ako ni ARIS sa BED!

NAMAN!

BEHAVE???

IN MANILA?

Spell ASA!

"No promises... It's too soon. Let's just ride the waves okay?"

Besides, behaved naman ako talaga eh. Sabay bawi eh no?

"I'm missing you already. Ingat sa Manila ha."

"Texting while driving? BAD CHEETAH! Concentrate, I'd be fine."

NAMANAMANAMAN OH!

Thirstday: Part 2 of 3 Iloilo Epilogue

"You wanna go back to your group? That's fine with me...tsk tsk tsk... sayang.... kala ko pa naman..."

Pinagpawisan si mokong. Kinuha number ko.

"Wait, let me handle this properly"

Jen: Well, not really! Look, he's leaving na! Na scare mo yata, Ana.

True enough, the guy was getting up, got his wallet, left some bills with his group, drained his bottle, and started walking away with out even looking at us. Diretcho lang syang lakad palayo...

Bago pa magkantyawan ang Thursday Group dahil sa isang malaking paso on my part, biglang ring ang phone ko. I proudly brandished it and said... "Tumatawag sya! I'm sure! Belat nyo!"

Hala! Kikidnapin ako nito, mamasakerin at itatapon sa dagat! Na ramdaman nya siguro ang fears ko. Hinawakan nya ang kamay ko. Nagsmile... pagkasarap sarap.

"Mag uusap lang tayo. Ayoko sa mataong lugar. Gusto ko tayo lang. Don't be afraid. I mean no harm. Here, use my phone to call your friends. Give them my plate number. So you could make sure nothing happens. Here's my wallet. You'll find all my ID's there. Give them my name, if you want."

It was more his smiles that disarmed me. I looked out the window. OA na sa layo to ha! To think guzzler ng gasolina ang RAV4!

"San ba tayo pupunta kasi? Sa Miag-ao? Don't tell me dadalhin mo dun sa simbahan. Hello sarado na yun no. Bilis mo naman, pakakasalan mo na agad ako?"

Tumawa lang si Chabi...

"I was right. You're funny... I see the spark of wit in your eyes kasi. That's what I liked about you. The groove of your body when you dance is just a bonus!"

Ganun? Nakikita mo ang mata ko from afar? Kumusta naman ang xray vision ni Superman!

When we reached Shamrock Resort in Guimbal, ipinasok nya ang sasakyan sa resort. He parked, got out, held my hand, and walked to the beach front. Naman!

Naupo kami sa shore. Nag usap. Nagtanungan. All this time, he was holding my hand.

"Andaming stars no? Ganda pa ng bwan. Di mo nakikita sa city to kasi eh."

"Mas magandang view ang dagat. So peaceful," sagot ko.

"Pinakamaganda na nakahawak ang kamay ko sa yo! Nothing beats that!"

He leaned in for a kiss... Sorry guys, marupok ako! Specially under the moon and the stars on a serene beach. We ended up hugging each other while talking. When it became too cold, we went back to the car to drive back to the city.

Thirstday 1 of 3 (The Thursday Group)

Tomorrow luluwas ako ng Manila.

As was said months back, by hook or by hookest, kailangan ko mapanuod ang FINAL SET ng EHEADS Concert.

I will leave Iloilo shortly after lunch, at shempre pa, magkakape kami ni YJ as soon as possible dahil may sumabog na bomba sa buhay nya lately.

But that's getting ahead of my story. Let me talk about this last night here in the batchoy republic.

I have a group na laging nagkikita sa isang tambayan every thursday.

Dahil nga Thursdays ang aming gabi, we called ourselves the Thursday group.

May mga clan clan pa syang nalalaman, and last night, bago ang bitbit nya.

With kasama,I mean jowa, prospect or hada. (dyahe)

ANA ROCES! Toink!

Eniweys, so yun na nga... jamming, kanta kanta, sayaw sayaw. In the middle of it all, kinalabit ako ni Bing. Nung nagsasasayaw daw, talagang may I silip sya kasi nga may mga nakaharang. Tinignan ko naman ang tinutukoy ni Bing. Uy! Chabi! Mukhang okey naman. Medyo cute. Pwede na rin. Nakasilip nga! Ginanahan pa tuloy ako magsasasayaw. Parang wala lang kunyari. Nungsulyapan ko ulit, and nagkatinginan kaming dalawa. Smile lang. Pakyut... hindi naman kasi to pick up joint or something to that effect eh. Straight bar pa rin to no! Abah ampotah! Kumindat. Shet!

"Can you light me up please? I mean, my ciggarette?"

Toink! KESO!

Light ko naman shempre...

Humirit pa sya ng isang deep singhot sabay...

"Amazing... bango mo kahit pawisan sa kakasayaw!"

Naman eh! Pwes...

"You want me to light you up, and you smell me... You know what, I can do more than that if you want!"

Tinginan ang Thursday Group. Direct hit! Follow through na! Unahan ba naman ako eh no?

"For starters, sit beside me. You don't have to work it. Your table is awfully far away from ours."

Kasi don't start eh! Ako ang tatapos nyan...

Watcha Blogsite?

This got me thinking...

Someone from my old publication sent me a text message weeks back. He said he was the current Editor-In-Chief. He also said he got my number from the Palanca Awards Website. Some people in my old school got wind of my win and surprised me with a large tarpaulin congratulating me. A tarpaulin that big will never fail to catch attention, and the publication, supposedly the watch dog of the campus caught on to it. They decided to do a feature of me for the next issue. Interestingly, this will be the entry issue for the College Press Awards. I was deeply honored, and the publication, being my baby and my pride and joy, and the one thing that I spilled my blood sweat tears and semen(another story for another day) for , I gladly consented for them to publish my works, provided they contact the Palanca Foundation, who now has residual rights over my winning entry. I even set up an online interview for them.

The interview went well. I am happy that the old folks back at school refer to me as the one who "revolutionized" the school paper, and by far, is the yardstick for journalistic excellence in that school. Again, I am deeply honored and I am touched to the core. There were talks of inviting me to speak for the commencement exercises, which I feel, is yet too soon. They'd have to wait until I win my Nobel, or my MAN ASIA at least. Hehehehehe. Etchusa! I felt nostalgic and chorvalistic during the interview. SO. This is how it feels to be subjected to the other end of the set up that I knew so well! I am both excited for the feature story, and at the same time apprehensive that he wouldn't get it right. Nevertheless, I let it go. I trust that he knows what he is doing.

Yesterday, he sent me another text. He said he was wrapping up the story. I was tempted to ask for a draft copy, then again, nothing beats seeing the final printed page. He was asking some final information he needed. My age, my birth date, my complete address (where he would send copies of the magazines too, hopefully), my educational attainment, etc. I was half expecting him to ask me my civil status actually, and I would say "It's complicated, out in the market, and under negotiation. It may not necessarily be blue chip stocks, but its high yield, good windfall, stable and negotiable." Hehehehehe! His last question is what startled me a bit.

What is your blog site sir?

Ahmmmm...

Up until now, I have been open with my blog. I post very personal matters, and even my face pictures. The only element of anonymity is my real name. But you see, if you carefully pay attention to the details, you can just but Google a few information I gave out in my older blog posts, and it would not be too hard to get my real name. I do not necessarily go around telling people about my blog, but I do not hide nor deny it either, when broached. Now what? Do I give him the URL?

Several sticks of cigarettes later, I replied.

"Is it essential for the piece? Does it make any difference if we put my blog site URL in that feature story? I do have poetry pieces posted in my blog, but you see, it's not an all out literary blog that I maintain. There are a few personal stuff in there that may not be fit for public consumption."

I do not fancy people rushing in here and doing things that may be beyond my control. I do not want to be bullied in to writing for and with regards to a sudden swing of 'readers.' It's not about annonymity or anything to that effect. I just felt that the article he was writing had nothing to do with this vice I have. After all, my blog entries are of the confessional type. Granting that my literary style somehow shows, as is a natural for any writer, be they writing Creative Pieces, such as Poetry, or something as personal as a journal. There is this type of creative writing of personal essays labeled as "Creative Non-Fiction" after all. Then again...

My old school is an Archdiocesan school. Catholic. I remember a thought provoking piece I wrote here months back. I could faintly recall a slight revelation about having once, an affair/relationship with an ordained Catholic priest. That was with Mugen, if I am not mistaken, and a million other trivialities that would be offensive to their senses.

Do not get me wrong. I did not refuse to reveal my blog spot for me to be protected from harassment. Its the other way around. I am protecting them bigoted people from hurting themselves. The biggest point there is this; the article being written has nothing to do with my being a blogger or with whatever is written in my blog for that matter. So for now, the Batchoyan remains one delectable secret in the world wide web and the blogosphere, that only you, dear Batchoyan Denizens, have the singular delight (or disgust) of partaking. Now go grab a bowl and dip right in! Pressing that comment button, or that subscribe icon won't make your computer crash. KAMON! You wanna do it! You know you want to!

Road Signs

Dearest One,

You were like a drop of rain after the harsh hot and arid desert; a sliver of heaven after being through the bowels of hell. The way your eyes twinkled with intelligence and your deep rumbling laughter echoed through the empty recesses in my heart. Your touch brought warmth to the cold dark forgotten corners of my soul. My friend told me how smitten I was by you. How, I was a kid, lost in wide eyed wonder at Toy Kingdom. Oh, how you fit in the curve of my arms, and how your arms feel right wherever you fancy anchoring it; my shoulders, on my hips, or wrapped around my neck, as you draw me in for a kiss. And your kisses! GOD your kisses! They fanned the embers of an almost long gone fire, and now it has blazed into conflagrations and biblical proportions that sear my very being. The urgent little kisses you bestow upon my sleeping body is more potent than the moon itself in drawing tides that would shame great tsunamis. What really reeled me in is that promise in you; that glimpse of eternity with you.

Then you said, you find us too fast and you are overwhelmed that you need to take a breather. I can't blame you. Instead, let me tell you that were on the same boat. I too am overwhelmed by you. However, maybe I'm just braver. I do not really like roller coaster rides in real life, but maybe I'm made this way. I do not blame you. I admit that I am very intense and I could be overwhelming for people, but I have no remorse nor apologies to offer you. Instead, I'd tell you that you ai'nt seen nothing yet. You ask me if I'm always this sweet, this much, this intense. I answered you, that there is only one way to find out. Stay.

I am tempted to agree with you, but I'm sorry, my speedometer is broken and yes, I am a speed devil. Again, I am unapologetic. As I have said, you aint seen nothing yet. Nevertheless, I respect what you feel. This is the slowest I could get, and to start with, I do not know the word slow. My friend asked me why the rush? I can only say Carpe Diem! She said this is not all about me. She's right. Then again, in respect to you, go take your breather and catch your breath. However, deep inside, I see the road signs. I feel us being through before we can even get started. You radiate these fears and these doubts. I feel them resonate. I do not like that portents that I see, but yes, I have to hit on the brakes. It would be needless to say that I have been through this road a thousand times before, and yes, I see the end of us coming very fast to sidesweep me and leave me sprawled on the concrete; roadkill yet again. Deep in the deepest sanctums of my heart I pray though, like I have never prayed before, that you will just take your deep breath and get back on the road and be on our ride to forever.

Dearest one, it breaks my heart, but I'm trying to be okay. I have heard those words before, and I know the maneuvers all too well. Since part of my prayers have been asnwered when we found each other, I'm hoping against hope that somehow, the final part that asks for you to stay would be heard and granted, too. If not, then I would find me on the road again, drowning in my own misery as much as my battered car drowns sometimes. Please, be different. Be the difference that I am looking for. If it's not too much to ask, please, get back into my arms. Stop my wishing and hoping. I'm tired of them. Lets just zoom away.

So take your breather. Get all the air you could get. I can not promise you that I will not overwhelm you once you get back. You happen to push all the right buttons, so I overflow. If not, then perhaps, thank you for hitch hiking. So many rides, so many motorists, so many pedestrians. I just hope you'd let me drive in to the garage, hang up my driving boots, and say goodbye to my life in the fast lane. I may have crashed and burned, but somehow, I'm still road legal. You know that I do not believe in "somewhere down the road. If you have to love me, love me now. Right here, right now, all or nothing, now or never.

I miss you... more than I ever let on or let you know. I do.

Love,

Luis

Blinking of an Eye

It's gonna be a hot blazing summah!

I promised Dawn/Maui that I'm keeping this under wraps, and I am, for now.

I am undergoing a roller coaster ride right now, but not just from one front.

I know I have been asking for some lovin' but, Lord, bakit naman yata sabay sabay? Hindi naman ako greedy eh.

Parang lumang Coke jingle lang???

Ito ang beat sabay sabay,
Ito ang beat bawal sablay.
Pabilis ng pabilis,
Wag mag mimiss
Wag magmimiss.
Gets mo na?
Gets mo na,
Ang AHHHH!
Coca Cola,
Nalilito, nalilito
Nahihilo, nahihilo
Coke ko to
Coke ko to
Coke ko to!

Hahay!

Sabi din ni Dawn, I'm smitten daw with one of them. Nagkasama kasi kami mag kape nung isang araw eh. Kasama si prospect #1. I looked like a kid lost in Toy Kingdom daw sabi ni Dawn.

Sabi ko naman sa kanya, hindi naman. Toy's R Us naman! Hehehehe.

Ewan.

It seems through before it even started!

Dawn! Puli di please! I process ta ni... hehehehe

Huwell...

Next!

Seventeen Part 2 of 2

Read part 1 in the previous entry before reading this.

Something happened kasi, but not in the wedding or the reception! Gawd! I feel my heart racing! Putcha! Kwento ko na lang later. Let me get this Seventeen series over and done with bago na naman mawala sa track... Where were we...

At around 5:40 I got to the appointed place. To while away the time, I kept myself occupied by stealing glances at this attractive guy sitting gorgeously alone some tables away from me. At exactly 6 by my watch, I texted him.

6:00 your 15 mins grace period starts now.

At least, that's technically 35 minutes ha! Hehehehe.

He promptly responded, and asked what I was wearing etc etc. To my surprise, gorgeous guy got up, fixed some of his things and started approaching my table.

Guy: Luis? Hi I'm PV! God! I'm glad I was right when I thought that it was you!
Me: Huh? What time did you exactly get here?
PV: 15 minutes before you did!

I kept my pulse in check! He was gorgeous! Really very attractive. Nice skin tone, very nice chinky eyes, waistline 34 (I think) preppy yuppie looking, with an air of intelligence, seriousness but with a dash of excitement. At this rate, I peg him to be between the age of 23-26.

Coffee was great. He has excellent conversational skills and a good working knowledge of creative writing, and a few 'research' on my works, which I very much doubt were 'Intrimitida fed.'

I was having so much fun with the conversation that I did not notice the time until it was too late. We missed the LFS @ Rob. At that, he apologized for not noticing the time himself. It was a relief that for the longest time, I have been able to talk to someone who does not keep checking his cellphone, and would ask to be excused if he had to reply to a message. We proceeded to a Thai restaurant for late dinner. I again doubt very much that this has to be an 'Intrimitida' fed info when he was able to correctly guess what I wanted to have in that restaurant. He was very very engaging and he had great sense of humor. The evening was wonderful., including the suck and fuck. He was not exactly what I'd call a 'power bottom,' but the guy had skills. When we were taking a shower afterwards, he asked me if I could give him a minute or two by himself in there. He said he was pee shy. No matter how he tries, he can't pee when someone is looking or is too close to him. Cute!

I towel dried myself, and left him in there. When I went back to bed, I noticed his wallet. The temptation was just too much to resist. I opened it and just as I suspected, he kept I.D's in there. He smiled when he saw me looking at his High School I.D.

Me: You still look a lot like your high school photo I.D
PV: Yeah, I lost my first one a month ago. I just had that taken and replaced last week.

WTF! He IS still in high school?

O to the M of the G!

3rd year, to be exact! Yes Ladies and Gents. As the song goes, "He was just seventeen, and you know what I mean!"

A few years back, I have been discussing the issue of age with some close friends. They know that I prefer my partners older than me. MEN not BOYS; that was my slogan.I always said that young age is such a liability, and if you are younger than me, I usually wouldn't even give you much time of the day. If I can recall, it was also Intrimitida who pointed this out to me. He reasoned that if I keep up with my penchant for older men, with the way I am adding years to my age as well, it won't be too long when I'd start hitting "Senior Citizen" aged people for potential partners. What he said was what actually made me reconsider my policy on age.

See, when you were much much younger, you have been chasing after older men. Now, do you realize that you could also be some young guy's 'older man?' Think about this, Luis. How would you have felt if your older men way back then didn't give you a batting chance just because you were younger? I'm sure you would have been devastated if Professor simply brushed you off just because you were just 14.

He was referring to my first ever same sex lover when I was in first year high school.Yes, po. I was an early bloomer. If there's a thing called 'corrupting minors,' I was the opposite of that. I was a corrupter-minor. Hehehehe. I started considering guys who were at the very least, 25 and above. Intrimitida, did have a point there, but Gawd, 17? After all, When I was 14, Prof was a fresh grad/fresh board passer, so he was just 21. Just a six or seven years gap.

What more, my youngest sister is 20. He was even younger than that! Oh and on the very tip of the pile, as a law student, I should know better. Hello Statutory Rape! Hello R.A 7610! Hello R.A 9344! Goodbye 17!

Not only that, I do not want to be blockade to his education etc etc etc. I chided myself for being so reckless. Good thing that nothing serious and permanent has been entered into by the both of us. It was simply a good Post Valentine Date.

To make matters worse, dear PV, henceforth, started exhibiting acts of Dominion and Ownership over me (see the New Civil Code of the Philippines Book II on Property) hehehe.

I would wake up to a barrage of texts from him in the morning, ten thousand miss calls, on the hour every hour, with varying styles and degrees of coercing a reply from me. Over the next few days, I had to change tambayans because he would show up unannounced whenever I am around hoping for a quiet mug of serenity.

Deep inside, I felt bad. I know that there was contributory negligence on my part. After all, I should have been more discerning. I also felt like shit for being something like a hit and run! Though in my heart, I never meant to lead him on, or to confuse or befuddle the poor kid. Even if I did enjoy the company and the great date we had, I did not say anything that would have led him to believe that I was committing myself to him. If it did end up in bed, I believe I did not plan for that to happen; it just did, and it was consensual.

I was in a rut. I know how it is to be chucked aside and brushed off like lint, but I know too that somehow, I must manage to put a stop to this. The attention is grating on my nerves and it's killing me to know that I am also inflicting a great deal of pain for the poor kid every time I rebuff his cavalier attempts. What to do? And then it hit me. I was once 17. I had a hunch, and played on it.

Since Intrimitida was technically the source of all this, I had to involve him. The plan was simple but it could backfire. Exactly a week ago, I consented to PV's insistence for a return engagement; a second date. This time, when we were having coffee, I purposely lead the discussion to the possibility of taking what we were having to the next level, meaning, exclusivity. I hinted that I only need a little time to gauge his sincerity. He was all ecstatic, that when I asked that we go to to a dance club next, he was just too happy to oblige. There, we 'accidentaly' bumped into Intrimitida, and as planned, boozed up. I do not drink, so naturally, Intrimitida was to be the drink buddy of PV for the night. Good thing that he could keep his own tab because Intrimitida was cajoling him into trying out the stronger, pricier stuff. After all, if he is to be my next partner, he has to build rapport with my best friend right? When he was all boozed up and comfy with Intrimitida, it was not very hard to plot a little episode at a lesser used and more distant men's room and with me, again, 'accidentaly' walking in on the both of them in a very 'compromising' situation.

A little show of my Teatro skill is required, a little 'Tension and Release,' an overly 'guilty' Intrimitida, a brief expression of disgust and regret, a walk to the taxi to send him off home, and a mug of coffee with Intrimitida much later for A Mission Accomplished and a Job Well Done; and hopefully, this would be the end of that sordid affair with seventeen.

I hate to be cruel and evil, but just because I do, does not mean I can't, if needed be. At the end of all these, I sigh a heavy sigh of relief.

WHEW!
