Twelve oh Five Part Two of Three (Old Flames)

Now where was I?

OH the honored guest for the night, right?

Well let's just call him EC (Ex Crush)

A little backgrounder, I think is in order.

He was a friend of Maui's. We got introduced months back before Maui got to work in Bacolod. I saw the both of them together at my favored kofishop one night, and as is my practice with friends I see in my lair, I asked Maui if I could join them. She said yes. At first I didn't quite recognize him, but when I was given his name, I immediately remembered! That name! He was a long time crush! Then Maui told me that he was actually suffering from devastating relationship with a girl who just took him in for a ride and was a bit of a gold digger. Awww! So that was why he looked like sh!t that night!

We exchanged numbers. I told Maui about my having a long time crush with him and she advised me to tread carefully with the EC. I was surprised when I got a text from him inviting me for coffee. And so we did. I already heard so much about him but when I got to know him better, I think he is one big misunderstood guy! In an attempt to diffuse the tension, I would kid him about my having a crush on him, and he played along with the "joke!" Conversations ran something like this:

Me: That's why you have problems with women! You know what, next time, try Men!
EC: Not on the menu so far... I will wait until you are in there!
(Hold your horses Luis, he is just joking!)
Me: Well, I don't go for straight guys, you know...
EC: Oh everyone is gay! They just vary in levels of acceptance and practice of their homosexuality!
ME: (Tangna! Lika praktisin natin yang level of acceptance mo!) Oh, and besides, my latest ex (Baboy) I think is a relative of yours. His middle name is the same as your family name. The break up was bad... so I guess it's bad marks on your rep sheet!
EC: Too bad, you met the wrong ____(Surname). Give yourself a chance with the right one I say!

I also learned that he writes poetry too. In the next coffee session with him, he brought a print out of his poems. I discussed and critiqued his poetry during the next coffee sessions, and he takes criticisms well. He calls me his mentor!

Our coffee sessions were interrupted when he had to go to the States for a vacation. Two says ago, I heard from a friend that he was seen having kofi with Maui, and was actually looking for me. I texted him yesterday, inviting him to the exhibit. He was a bit late.

I had coffee with him. That is why, I ran late for work. I jokingly introduced him around as my next boyfriend; make that, my next EX! He gamely played along with the joke, adding that I was actually his current boyfriend, but that he was still 'on-training' for the position.

I was so glad to see him tonight, but while I was riding the taxi to the office (my car is still under repair), I realized something.

What I feel for him is shrouded in jokes and jests, and when I really dig down for the emotions I use to feel, it's not there anymore... just the joke... Oh well...

CHOOOVEEE KANTINYOOD!

Twelve Oh Five Part one of three (Gallerize ME!)

I am just bubbling over with excitement today.

I am so happy over the developments of a few things, and I feel this will be one long blog post, so here I am, doing another series of posts

The unveiling of "Not Black, Not White" was a huge success! Read my old blogpost about this event here. I also agreed to help out further by hosting the event at Crave Art Cafe for that night. I was happy for Babak. I know this was important for him and I could see his exhilaration. The audience were very appreciative and it was a fun night with like minded persons. The photo that Babak selected for me was fantastic and it was placed in the center part of the exhibit. I can only find so little words to say for the fulfillment it brought me. No words would be enough to express how I felt. It was electrifying! It was a dangerous mix of the Torreador, the Exhibitionist and the Narcissist in me... Babak was profusely thanking me. I told him "No Bob, thank you for making me look so wonderful in that photo!" He retorted "No, you ARE wondeful already! I just took a shot and captured that!" A sliver of sunshine cut through my heart and joy liquefied and escaped from my eye. It was a happy happy event!

Here is me with the Artist Babak Niaraki...

Most of the models were there too that night.

Me and Netty clowning around imitating each other's poses.

And of course, for those unable to see the exhibit, here are the photos. They were printed through large format printing on canvas so they look like painting. Bob used minimal editing for the photo's and they looked really good. Check these out!

Sorry I can't give you this model's name, she wants to remain anonymous

If only I had a better camera you would have been able to see the great tattoos on the models back!

Love the photo, love the model too!

I say great rhythm and flexibility going on there, but I was surprised when I talked to the model because she admitted that when she saw my raw photo's she attempted to mimic my poses, but couldn't get it right. Really, now!

This photo gave me sadness. Great emotions in there!

I love how the hair cascades in this photo! Nice texture.

This has got to be my favorite! OH YES! This is the artist/photographer himself. Too bad the Mohawk hair didn't show that much

The night was fantastic, and there was good food and laughter there too. The Chicken Kebabs with Youghurt dip by Babak's Mom, the lovely Sherlita was heavenly and simply delish! Kitchie, Babak's wife was stunning too, for a woman on her 5th month of pregnancy! All in all, it was one hell of a night!

Oh... of course! My photo! Well before that, let me show you the raw photo Babak selected for me. Here it is...

NAAAAAH!!! Too much frontal exposure there! :-p

And the final photo on canvas displayed in the exhibit...

Speechless!

Nobody missed who the model was. Hehehehe... Lookey see...

Happy and fulfilled!

NAH! Didn't seem like it... let's do that again, shall we?

More like it! HAPPY AND FULFILLED! ELECTRIFIED!

Congratulations Babak, and to everyone who were part of this thing. For nearby cities, we would be touring the exhibit soon, so just keep checking my blog for updates. We have plans to do Roxas City, then Bacolod... and who knows... maybe Cambodia perhaps? Paging Loven Ramos!

If you were wondering who my special guest for the night was... It was him... more on him in the next post.

CHOOVEEE KANTINYOUD!

Not Black, not white

Hear yeah! Hear yeah!!!

My very good friend Babak Niaraki will be having his debut solo photo exhibit dubbed "Not Black, Not White" at Crave Art Cafe at the Smallville Compound, Diversion Road Mandurriao, Iloilo City. The opening night will be on December 05, 2008 at 6:30 PM and will run until the 21st of December.

The exhibit features artistic nudes shot by Babak, of four men and four women who are "Not Black, Not White" printed on Canvas and mounted on frames.

Let me take a minute to discuss Babak's wondeful concept as I have been privy to this process. The models are shown naked inside a box. The concept is contrasts; freedom vs security; introversion vs extroversion; in the box wanting to get out but afraid to leave yet not wanting to stay! In short, not black, not white! It is more than just indecision or dilemma, it is a state of the [?].

Please come if you can. I am as excited as the artist is because I have been with him through this project from the time it was just a passing fancy discussed over coffee until today.

Oh, and yes...

I posed! After 200+ shots and two photo sessions, Babak chose one photo and printed it on Canvas. The raw shots looked kinda something like this...
Look!

You say fat I say PHAT!

Naked and Sacred! Hit it Chyna Phillips!

I may have the bulge but I bring it and indulge!

I had so much fun!

If you ask very very nicely, I might consider posting the more "revealing" raw photos in a future blog post that would come with a disclaimer and a warning for you to bring your own vomit bags!

Me and Babak after the shoot!

To see more of Babak's works click here!

The above shown photo's are raw pictures from the shoot and are not the ones that would be shown on the exhibit tomorrow of course so you have to be there to see the real deal. In photo canvases that are "Not black, not White!"

BE there tomorrow if you can! See yah!

Working Batchoy

First day at work!

Kalowkah!

I was called by the HR to come for (yet?) another client interview yesterday at 7PM. Which means, aabsent ako sa last period ko na class. I up and went to the office. There were around 6 of us waiting for the client interview. We were then told that we would be subjected to another round of client interview because we were handpicked by the US based clients as the top scorers in English Proficiency. Kever! Bring it on nang matapos na tey!

When the client interview was over and done with, I hung around sa kofishop sa baba ng ofis. I didn't feel like going home yet. After a while, nag ring ang fone ko. It was the HR calling, informing me that we would go on board for product training at 10PM-6AM! Tama ba naman yun? Can you say "Ambush?" Eh pano kung me prior engagement?

Watever! Bring it on! Training at 10 it is. As I was told before, skip na nga kami ng English or Amspeak training. Diretchong product training na kami. One week lang na product training, sasalang na kami sa floor to take calls by next Monday! Plus, kahit ramp up lang, mas matagal ang hiring period namin. We will be on board for a whole month, as opposed to other ramp up hires who will be on English training for a week, Product training for another week, and a final week on the floor.

Me likey! sinabi ulit sa amin that we will be posted on the Customer Service Help Desk. We will not be taking costumer calls. We will be taking florists concerns instead. Vale kami yung trouble shooting team pag me problema sa orders ang florists. Kami ang tatawag sa client to confirm, re confirm and what nots pag nagka problema ang florists sa orders. We were also told na merong opening for regular hires para sa CSHD. If we do good, some of us may be extended for regular hiring.

14 kami. Anim lang kaming lalaki out of 14. Lets just say that the pickings are few. The other single muraya is a fag hag/bitch na feelingera, at ang isa ay mountain goat. 'Nuff said! That leaves me and another guy for karirability. For a lack of a better choice, as early as the first day, dead as a dead duck ang chances for karir sa team namin. There was this tall mestizo guy na mukhang crush ng madla. Except me. I know there was something I couldn't quite place about him that's just so wrong.

Pinagbasa kami one by one nung powerpoint slides. Everytime mestizo's turn comes to read, laging merong mali mali sa pagbabasa nya; pronunciation and diction wise. He would stumble with the sentences. The last straw was when he read Purple as Parfool! Kumusta naman itey? Kala ko ba, proficient and cream of the crop ang team na to? Eh mas magaling pa ang little sister ko sa mokong na to eh. Sana sya na lang isinama sa team, if not Alvi or Gucci!

Anyhoot.

BOUVARDIA! Sosiness!!!

At ang Kalachuchi ay...

PLUMERIA! or West Indian Jasmine!

Oh well...

Enjoy naman ang first day.

Kiver! Mapauso nga! Hekhekhek

Twelve oh One Final Part (Bowled Over... Not!)

SO go na si CC to the rescue of the sisterette. After a while nag message alert ang telepono ko.

Hi Luis. Miss you already! Kofi the soonest I get ovr n done wid hir k?

Kesong keso! Pero in fairness, kilig to the bones naman! Hayaan nyo na ako! Wag na kumontra!

OK! Stop txtng wyl drving! BAD Habit! C yah wenever I do!

Chuplado kunyari... kunyari lang naman! Nakaramdam ako ng pagod kaya I decided to have kofi in a nearby shop. Habang nagkakape kape. I noticed him... kyuti naman, matangkad, naka shorts at medyo mabalahibo ang legs, pero di ganun ka chub! Mukha naman akong istoker neto! Kung sino ka man, peace on earth. Hehehehe... In fairness kyuti ka! Tapos, Im kompyooosed! Ikaw ba itoh?

Tamis ng Smile... Pwede pang sweeten sa kape

Suspicious na si Kyuti! Stalker Mode On si Luis!

Ayoko na! Naaalibadbaran na ako sa Yellow Camisa Chino! Stalker Mode OFF!

Lose the yellow camisa chino darling... it looks so kunsorte sa sagala inner shirt. Hekhekhek. After a while, nag sawa ako kaka tingin kay yellow camisa chino guy nakaramdam ako ng tomguts! I opted for the second option, but before that, bili muna ako ng yosi sa liquor section. So go! After ako bumili, naisipan ko munang mag ikot ikot. Maliit lang naman ang store eh. While I was checking out the display sa Men's Area, I saw someone familiar! OMG!

Bakgrawnder muna! Si LISP ay nakilala ko at naka meet once and only once, over kofi. I was wondering what was wrong pero, if things get lost, they do for a reason, so, let it go na lang ako. Na alarm naman ako in a way, pero on the flip side, sayang din naman. LISP and I got along quite well at enjoy naman ako sa company nya, and vice-versa kaya nga nagtataka ako why the sudden disappearance or no response!

L: Hey! Im so glad I saw you! I didn't know how I would contact you.

Me: Ah ganun ba?

L: Im sorry talaga! Tara, let me make it up to you! Mag isa ka lang ba? Mag isa lang din naman ako eh. Pumunta lang ako sa school kanina kasi may finalow up. Wala namang pasok today.

Me: Ok lang. (Original naman ang rason eh! Ngayon ko lang narinig yun ha! Naplantcha ang sim! Amazing! Magamit nga sa isang short story!) Where to? Actually, I wanted to have lunch, kaso lang, I decided na sa bahay na lang. Uuwi na rin ako after a while eh!

L: Oh tara, lunch! Where?

Me: Gusto ko ng two piece burger steak eh...

And so we had lunch! Habang lunch, kwento kwento. Dedma! Sabi ko how would I know? Besides, DKDC! Don't Know Don't Care! Me kilala daw sya na common friend nya with DJ at mukhang sila na nga daw ni Baboy. Sabi ko, good for them! They deserve each other!

So go! Kape sa isa pang malapit na kofishop! Hindi na ako nakatiis! I popped the question.

Me: Tell me about the Doctor!

Nagulat si LISP! Well, there you go! My answer! To rub it in and to make things clear, iniba ko tanong

Me: Are you still together?

I'm a good journalist. I have reliable sources, and I do not expose them needlessly! Windang na si LISP. Sira na diskarte! At that point, it would have been better if he stayed the way he was. LOST! Ayoko naman mag end ng meet up abruptly by asking to leave kasi magtutunog bitter naman yun so sabi ko na lang.

Me: So, you like to play? Matagal na ako di nakakapag bowling eh, ayan SEBA oh malapit lang naman from here. Tara, laro tayo after kofi, if you like.

Nawindang lalo si LISP sa bilis ng takbo ng isip ko and he looked like he didn't know what hit him. Sounds like fun to me. Sige go! Laro tayo. Sa isip ko lang. Eherm... Masusubukan! Masaya to!

At the end of five games, wala syang naipanalong game kahit minsan! And we parted ways.

In fairness... nag enjoy ako. If so, muntik na! On the other hand, pwedeng dineny nya... on the other other hand naman (Si Shiva to, maraming kamay, kaya wag magulo!) baka nga naunahan ko lang talaga sya at na korner sya! Anyhoot!

Yummy!

Hmmm.... LISP talaga! Hihirit pa eh! Ano kaya kung makipaglaro ako sa kanya? After all, sya naman tong may jowa eh! Hindi naman ako ang may masamang ginagawa! Besides, kung nanloloko ka, masarap kaya to be beaten at your own game... Pero sabi ng puso ko, no! Wag! Bad Cheetah! Christmas pa naman! Dapat Gloria in Excelsis Deo et in Terra PAx Hominibus Bonae Voluntatis!

Mapilit sya eh!

Dinner or kofi? Or both?

Text nya...

Yung shirt na pinili nya kanina for me. Nagdinner at nagkape lang kami. Usap usap. Hinatid nya rin ako pauwi. I had fun!

Sheesh!

EH AMBAGAL NYA EH! Masarap kausap at kasama si CC. Pero syempre... Hinay hinay!

I had so much fun! You make me laugh. Hope we could do this more often!

Naku! Wag mo kong sanayin!

Likewise! I could get used to this! Thanks for a great evening, you take ker.

DV, wait lang ha! Tapusin ko lang tong blogpost. After this, sunod na ako jan sa dreamland. See you and your Violin, or maybe, let's just waltz under the silver pale moon! Wag mainip. Malapit na to! WHEW!

Twelve oh One Part Two of Three (Looks Good On Me)

I left the bazaar baffled. Pleasantly buzzed and smiling deep within and surely, without too!
Off to Amigo Mall to check out the merchandise. The last time I was there, nakabili ako neto...

Mint Green Shirt I bought last week

Love the color! That time nung pumunta ako, kontilang dala kong pera kaya sampiraso lang nabili ko pero madami akong gusto dun. Nagbalak ako bumalik at today na nga yun! Besides, this week daw darating ang bagong stocks nila, kaya go! Sad! Sana okey lang naman si Ateng namamalengke! Lipat ako nang store. Last time din, nakabili ako ng parang pop watch dun.

Pop Me My Time

Both! Bummer! I picked up three shirts and went to the fitting room area.

Naghintay ako sa labas ng fitting room. Okupado both. Biglang naghawi ng kurtina ang isa. Me lumabas na chubby chinito. Tumingin sya, nag smile. Smile din naman ako. Then nakipag usap sya. Sam Ting Layk Dis!

CC (Chubby Chinito): Hi, sorry if that took long.

Me: It's ok, I don't mind waiting.

CC: Thanks. I'm kinda finding it hard to decide which to buy. This shirt I'm wearing now or this (shows an olive green one).

Me: Hmmm...

CC: I ike both, wala lang akong second opinion kasi, wala akong kasama eh. What do you think?

Me: That one you are wearing looks good on you, actually. (Sabay smile ako...Anlandeeeh!)

CC: Really? You think so?

Me: Wel I haven't seen the olive green one on you... So...

CC: Wait! Now which one?

Me: Hmmmmm... Now I'm confused! They both look good on you! (Ismayl demyur ulit!)

CC: Hahahaha...

Murayah: Is there any problem? Do you need help?

Me: (Deadma sa murayah!) Tutoo naman eh, they both look good on you. If you can afford it, kunin mo na both! Bagay naman sa yo eh. Magkaiba naman designs!

CC: Hahahaha... sorry ha, nabother ko pa pati ikaw.

Me: No problem! (Sabay harap sa murayah) Magkano ba yan? Wala bang discount pag marami kukunin. (Umandar na ang tawaran/kuriputan skills ko)

Murayah: If you are buying a lot, I can give you discount. (May ari nga sya eh di ba?)

CC: Hahaha, you are cool and amazing! Ok I will take both shirts!

Shirt #1: Aqua-me-marine

WAGI! Amazing daw ketch?

Meanwhile, go fit na ako. Tae! Dilemma na tetch! I like al three! Huwaaa! Hanap ako ng saleslady na makakatulong which one looks best on me.
Nagulat ako pag bukas, andun pa si CC. Nakaabang!

Shirt #2: Brown To Earth

CC: Hi! I forgot to say thanks, and I didn't get your name!
Abah!

Me: It's ok! You're welcome. My name's Luis.

CC: I'm CC! (kala nyo ha!) Thanks again! You took long, too. Can't decide? Need second opinion?
Abah! Mababaliktad ata ah! Oh no, you are not gonna...

Me: No, it's ok! Im considering buying all three... considering! (Ches lang!) By the way, how much did you get yours for? Malaki ba binigay na discount ni Ate? Bibigyan nya dapat ako ng mas malaki kasi kinumbinsi kita to get both! Hahahaha!

Shirt #3: I'm a lighter shade of Blue!

CC: Considerably big discount naman! Kaya nga binili ko na both eh... Tig - Php___ na lang!

Me: Wow! Laki ng bawas ah! Sige kunin ko na tong tatlo! (Buti na lang me dala akong pera! At infairness!

Basta bumalik kayo dito pag me bago ha!

Infairness! Super mura na nga bigay ng lola! Pwes! GO! Gandah! Tutal nagbabalak naman talaga ako bumili ng attoureseses for work eh!

Me: Sige pili lang ako ng isa pa! Sana meron ako magustuhan pa!
Go na ako sa display area to get another shirt!

CC: Ang galing mo ah! Talo mo pa ako, eh insik daw ako eh! Mas magaling ka sa tawaran eh!

Me: Hahaha... thank you! Ganyan talaga pag medyo kapos ang budget lagi. Ya know! Proletariat! (Chos lang! Kyut nya ngumiti! Nahuhumaling na sa akin to ah! Baka ipahawak neto mga negosyo nya saken! Scared! Hehehehee)

Me: Guess what, you have been very nice to me. Why don't you pick a shirt/color for me?

CC: Huh? You sure? Parang jowa ah! Hehehehehe

Me: If you don't mind lang naman! If you do, it's ok, I can go pick o...

CC: This! This color would look good on you, I think!

Shirt #4: C cubed! CC's Choice! Parpool

Saved by the bell... este... cellphone! Nag ring ang phone ni CC

CC: Sori, I have to take this call, excuse me!

CC: Ahmmm... sori, I really need to go get her. Would you like to go with me? Baka may alam ka din sa kotse? Hehehehe

Me: Raincheck! (Too much too soon naman to eh!)

CC: Aw! Sige. Let me just drop you off where you wanna be next!

Me: (I wanna be next to you in bed! Etchos!) Nah, I can take it from here! Besides, you have to go help your sister pa! I will be fine!

CC: Sure ka? O sige, but before that, can I have your number? I keyed in my number and returned the phone to him!)

Me: Give me a call so I can save your number too. (Pina ring nya naman and I saved his number)

CC: So pano? Thanks again! Kofi next time, pramis yan!

Me: Pleasure's mine! Take care... and to your sister too (bayaw? Mwahahaha!) Bye bye (walang kiss?)

Twelve oh One Part One of Three (Music and Lyrics)

What a day dot dot dot!

Today is something kinda layk dat... less the kangkang thinggie due to my self imposed celibacy... charlegmagne!

I woke up at 10:30, with the early sympotms of a flu; heavy head (both), runny nose, hot teary eyes, and terribly late for my Orientation for work at 10:00 AM! Blame it on the Bossanova played on violins in my dreams! Wag na ipagdamot! Yan na nga lang eh!

Hurriedly splashed myself awake, grabed some garb and grub, and hurried off to the office. On the way, I read Alvi's texts asking kung asan na ako. Si Alvi ang istreyt na lalaking kabarkada ko na sabay ko din nag apply for the ramp-up dahil bored din at insomniac sya tulad ko. Spell ASA! Alas diyes nga hindi ako makagising! Nine pa kaya? Buti merong 9PM-6AM na sked para sa mga in-school, which I am, technically din naman! Sinabi pa ng nag oorient na she will confirm daw kasi recommended ako to skip Engish Training and go directly to product training. Mataas ang English Proficiency Results ko. In a 1 to 4 scale, perfect 1 ang ni rate sa akin in all English tests!

I checked my wallet and decided to check out the newly renovated/opened Amigo Mall! Makatingin tingin at baka me magustuhang mga attoure dun for training and for the job na din. Enihoots, go ako mag isa!

Merong one day Christmas Bazaar dun! Drop by! Nakabili ako ng limang libro for only 40 pesos lahat... good titles at that...TheOmen ni David Seltzer, Canterburry Tales ni Geoffrey Chaucer (classic kaya to!) Back to the Barrios ni Juan Flavier (sinusundan ko kaya column nya dati), A Map of the World ni Jane Hamilton (no idea ako dito pero Oprah's Book Club sya at National Bestseller daw, and besides, at less than ten pesos, keri na!) at ang pagkaganda gandang The Giver ni Lois Lowry, na meron na akong kopya pero balak ko ibigay kay Ewinowi for her birthday, along with what I am thinking of getting her. Now the delicious/intriguing part!

Yeh: You look familiar! I think I have seen you before.
Me: Really? Well I do get around.
Yeh: Were you at SM City when there was a string trio performance?
Me: Yeah! Why? (Medyo puzzled na!)
Yeh: Yeah! That's it! That's where I saw you. You stayed the whole time, and you were really into the music! Tuwang tuwa ang trio na merong nakaka appreciate at nag take talaga ng time to stay and listen!
Me: Oh you have no idea! How did you know that? Where were you then? (Binabantayan mo ko ha!)
Yeh: At the back... of the trio... the pianist is my fiance!
Me: Wow! Talented guy! Loved his piano solo! (Charot!

Tanginampakinshet!

I FORGOT!

NAKABALANDRA PALA SA FONE KO AS WALLPAPER ANG PICTURE NI VIOLINIST NA KINUNAN KO HABANG TUMUTUGTOG SYA! POOOOTAAAAH!!!

Nagulat at napangiti na rin si Yeh! Halos matunaw ako sa dyahe at hiya! Sabi ni gurl! Wow! How sweet! Naka wall paper talaga? Isang musikero at isang makata! Bagay ah! You want me to tell him? (Talitalinong babae neto! I swear! Friends na tayo for life!) Hehehehe Sagot ko naman... Tell him what? Nakakaloka! Sabay bawi naman si Yeh... Very nice naman sya eh! Kayo na dalawa bahala!

Sa isip ko lang... Music and Lyrics ba itoh?

LORD IS THIS A SIGN? CHAROS LUKOS!
