Patadyong FASYON

Gamit ang age-old patadyong, members of the Designers Guild of Iloilo, Fashion Designer's Council of Iloilo at Young Designer's of Iloilo interpreted the patadyong in contemporary fashion and haute couture. Isa lang ang masasabi ko. BONGGALICIOUS! Sabi sa Guide notes on the Exhibition ng patadyong sa Museo Iloilo, na sinulat ni Randy M. Madrid ng Center for West Visayang Studies ng University of the Philippines, Visayas sa Iloilo City:

It is not just the everyday common wear (the patadyong) of bygone days. There are creative contemporary uses of the patadyong- as curtains, throw pillows, pillow covers, scarves, and table runners - helping to create interesting accents at home and the workplace. Moreover, Ilonggo designers have also reinterprted the patadyong and incorporated it into contemporary designs, making it the newest sensation in haute couture. Juxtaposed with samples of its prospects in todays fashion, the patadyong at the center stage at this satellite museum exhibit that feature facets of the works of noted Filipino artist, Fernando Amorsolo.

Di bala? Here are the designs:

Peer Lynelle Banas

Tarush mo na now!

Jaki Penalosa

Shining shimering splendid in silver and baby pink!

YES! Love tha hablon jacket inday fuschia! Sabagay! Mapaguusapan naman yan siguro. Migahay! Di bala Inday Donatela? Chos!

my lola never goes out of the house without patadyong. she has a collection na nakatago sa kanyang baul.

it's nice to see designers making an effort to 'modernize' this.

They do work it james! They do and it just rocks!

lyka, maganda nga ang pagkakatahi kaso lang, I find the choice of patadyog weak. Mukha lang syang checkered table cloth. She could have chosen a more interesting pattern.
