Seventeen part 1of 2

Matagal ko na gustong i post ito. Madami lang distractions kaya I never got around to doing it. Tonight, I resolved to finally get down to it and get it all out.

Hi, I'm PV. I got ur # frm ur frnd Intrimitida. Can we txt? :)

It all started when I got a text from an unregistered number nung Feb.15

Hi. I dnt rmembr auhtorizng Intrimitida to giv u my # but sinz he did, wat is it dat u want pls?

Suplado talaga ako lalo na sa text. I don't give out my number to people just like that and I do not authorize my friends to spread it around. Even if I post my number in friend's blogs for them to contact me, when I get stray texts from people who might have lifted it from there, I do not worry. I simply ignore unregistered numbers. 2.) Sinabi nya agad ang source nya, 3.) Maayos ang pagkaka mensahe nya.

Hudahel is this PV and why Da F*ck did u gve my # to him?
Text ko kay Intrimitida. Actually, lets just call him PV, as in Post Valentine.

Kakang Gata #2

JOKE! Hehehehehe

Sana magustuhan mo din to.

PAGKAKAKANG GATA
Ni Luis Batchoy

Halos biyakin ko na
Ang matigas at nagyeyelong
Lamig na nakabalot
Sa iyong kumot.
Malaimpyerno
Ang pagliliyab
Ng ating mga kaluluwa
Habang abot langit naman
Ang luwalhating hatid
Ng iyong dila.
Sige, hawak kang mabuti
Kapit lang sa akin
Kahit pa halos
Makudkod
Ang aking likod
Sa pagkakuyumos
Ng iyong pagnanasa
At halos pigain mo
Ang aking buong pagkatao.
Mahal, huwag mong sayangin
Ang bawat patak
Ng pinaghihirapan natin.
Sahurin mo
Kung kinakailangan
Himurin pa.
Ano mang saglit
Ay pupulandit
Na parang kakang gata
Purong puro
Lasapin
Ang linamnam
Ng ating pagniniig.

Kakang Gata #1

SWAK! Ang ganda ganda ng metaporang ito! Pagkaganda gandang Poetic Imaging and Rendering! Shet!

Bakit kaya ganun? I can not write a happy love poem.

Kakang Gata

At ikinaskas kaskas
Ang puso ko
Sa kudkurang kinakalawang
Ng kasinungalingan
Pagkukunwari at panlilinlang.
Nilapirot at kinuyu-kuyumos
At ubos lakas
Na piniga piga
Upang makatas
Ang kahulihuliang patak
Ng kakang gata
Ang aking pag-ibig
Isipin ko na lang
Kahit papano naman
May masarap na ulam
Na nailuto dahil sa aking
Pagbibigay at hinagpis
At kahit pa piga-pigaing muli
Ang lamog lamog ko nang puso
Ay hinding hindi na muling
Matitikman
Ang linamanam
Ng purong purong
Kakang gata
Ng wagas na pagmamahal
At sa huli
Ay lalabnaw din naman
Pati ang aking
Mga luha.

A (Boxer) Brief Affair

I was meaning to tell you about the 17 year old guy, but while I was composing this blog post, I got distracted.

How to #3

Read How to #1 and How to #2 first.

Upon the drawing of the small hours, I was thankful for the improved peace and quiet at the coffee shop. Most people were actually having coffee there instead of downing can after can of beer. Just when I thought that there would be a chance to actually modify and edit all poems I wrote for the folio, this odd Korean pair sat at the table across me, hence a third episode, and a third poem. When the poem was written, I reckon it's about time I got home. I have had enough episodes for the day. Even Miss Melanie Marquez is quoted to have been wary of fourth episodes, as she said "You can fool me once, you can fool me twice; you can even fool me thrice - but you can never fool me four!

These "how to" poems are getting addicting so this has to be the last one, for now at least.

How to Figure Out if a Korean Late Worm/Early Bird
is Trying to Pick You Up at a Coffee Shop

By Luis Batchoy

He and his friend are either
Early birds, too early
For the day's start,
Or late worms
For the day's end
But after all, you do
Defy definitions as well.
So smile - a lot, especially
Every time he glances at you.
Sweeter, sultrier, sexier;
Notice how he huddles and confers
With his Korean companion
Who is actually more your type,
And wish he'd eye you more than this one does.
Now, brace yourself as he approaches
To make small talk, in his very awkward,
English, and pathetic conversational skills.
At least, be thankful that he does not
Shove an electronic dictionary right at you,
And that at least he has twice the balls
In the flirtation department, as compared to
Your own countrymen, in your earlier encounters.
Decode the usual questions he asks you,
Of why you are alone, and what
You seem to be doing intently, and analyze
Whether this must be some come-on,
Or some pick up line back where he comes from.
Then, ask him questions, too,
Of what his name is, how long has he been in the city
And how does he find your city so far?
Or if he'd like you to improve dramatically
His opinion of your city, then smile
At your witty come-on and pick up line.
Do not expect a coherent answer
And trust that he did not get your
Come-on and witty pick up line.
Quit trying to word carefully that burning itch
To ask him questions point blank;
If he is gay, or whether he likes you,
Or would he want to take you home, vice-versa,
Don't even start asking him,
In whatever way if he would want
To suck your dick, or vice versa!
Then, before exasperation sets in, marvel
At how language could connect
And disconnect, and how
Lust as a necessity, tries to work
In breaking barriers across datelines.
Then, give up on the conversation.
Resume the non-verbal communication
Of smiling and nodding at each other
And be comforted with the fact
That he did not necessarily word
His suspicion that you
Are a pimp who could get him
A whore for the night, even if
He would call it 'girlfriend,'
And how you really don't like
Kimchi.
Now make a mental note
To learn how to say in Korean,
"Bullshit"

How to #2

Read How to #1 first

Midway, and as night fell deeper, there was another one of them there where I was. I was still struggling with the collection, and alternately interspersing rest periods for my brain with a chapter or two of the novel I brought along. I was slowly sipping the only substance I could take: coffee. Every now and then I would also survey the scene in my turf. I noticed this guy with his friends. He was wearing a basketball jersey. Same get up that every one else was wearing in their table. He must have come from a ball game, and shooting balls my way; eyeballs that is. He looks a bit sweaty from their game, and uhmmm... he looks familiar. I had to look twice and stifle the sudden dribble my heart lurched into when I looked at his face... Nah! Can't be... Here's poem number 2.

How to Lose Interest in a Guy in Basketball Jersey
Eying You at a Coffee Shop

By Luis Batchoy

Sit still, or better yet, in the most
Awkward, contorted and uncomfortable
Angle you can manage
Without losing sight of him
From your peripheral vision.
Double up the puffs you take
From the cigarette you let
dangle from the corner of your mouth.
Every third puff, look up
From the book your reading and quit
Staring intently at your pen
As if, willing it to life and write
A poem about his flirtatious glances
And winks, as if, willing you to
Cross the borders of repression
And the eventual risk of being
Brushed aside. Return
The challenge and chuckle
At his silly yet endearing way
Of looking away when you catch him
Stare at, no, gawk at you.
Return to the open book in your lap
And read intently, as if somewhere in the page
You'd find his name and number.
Then stare back at him hoping
That being the athlete that he is
He would realize that dribblings
Don't count
It's the baskets that do.
After all, you are not the player here
He is. Now grab your mug and drink
One long, slow, gulp.
Take time to savor your coffee
As you savor and bask in his stares
And be aware that your wall of resistance
Is slowly liquefying and now
Drips from the corners of your mouth
Where your cigarette used to be.
Now stare at him blankly
Taking your shot for the basket
From way, way beyond
The rainbow territory.
If only for that promise in his handsome face
To rescue you from the solace of this
Solitary table alone-liness, but then again,
Put down your mug, slowly
And promise that the next time he smiles at you
You'd volley back with one of your own.
The most saccharine ones you reserved.
Take one long drag at your cigarette
And flick the ashes off the same way
You'd flick at the thought of him
And how he looks like your ex. The worst one.
And with that, let all hell freeze over.
Return to the story in your book.
Your coffee, your unwritten poem,
Your cigarette, and the deeply satisfying
Solace of your solitary table
In your most gorgeous
Alone-liness.

HOW TO #1

Last Sunday I had coffee alone. I was thinking about writing the folio I wanted to come up with for the UPV Sentro ng Wika Publication. So up I went with a novel, a book of poems and my pen and paper. Well, since my favorite coffee joint is also known for some mysterious happenings, there are always stares and then some on that spot. As the evening wore on, I was bent on finishing the 5 poem folio, but there were distractions along the way, and instead of writing the five Hiligaynon poems, I let my mind (and eyes) wander, and three other English poem got in the way because of three exciting things (and men). Let me tell you what happened through poems. This is the first of 3. Enjoy!

How to Propose Marriage to a Complete (ly Gorgeous)
Stranger In a Coffee Shop

By Luis Batchoy

Step 1: Order Coffee;
The strong, bold and bitter one,
To steel your nerves.
Notice that he
Does not have a ring
Or a tell-tale mark
So pat yourself on the back
And go for broke!

Step 2: Fantasize how you really have to marry him
Because there is no one quite like him.
You must have that sparkle in his eyes
To drive the darkness in your room.
You must have that promise in his
arms to thaw the cold nights.
Above all, you must have that
Wits about him
To keep you sane.

Step 3: Think of him saying yes
To stopping traffic
In the middle of Bonifacio Drive,
In front of the Iloilo Hall of Justice
So you could tie the knot
Or knot in ties
Amidst the angry honking
Of irate and annoyed motorists.
No, scrap that idea,
Be grander.
Do it in EDSA.

Step 4: Think of the beautiful future
You and him would share.
Pray that like you,
He is all city and metropolitan;
But born with a grain of sand
Lodged in his heart and soul,
That longs for a commune
With other grains of sand,
To be licked and washed over
By the salty waves, every so often.

Step 5: Pray harder and wish harder
That he adores the laughter
Of crazy cavorting children
The way you do.
How they tire you, yet lift you
And bringing you mad sanity
And how you'd tell them stories,
Some of which you wrote yourself,
And naturally, of course, the wonderful
Wild ways of making them.

Step 6: Freeze at the disappointing truth
That you are in the Philippines
And that in this jurisdiction,
Granting of course, He'd say yes;
Because he is crazily smitten
By you and your penchant
For wild imaginings
And caffeinated poetics,
And that he is madly
In love with you,
Is not enough reason
For two men
To get married

Step 7: Order more coffee
And sweeten them
With his smiles.
Be comforted by the fact
That he is struggling
With the same
Albeit, saner
Thoughts of you.
Sweeten his drink
With your smiles.

My (fill in the blank)'s Wedding

Taking a break from posting my poetry, let me tackle one of the issues troubling me nowadays. As I have already mentioned sa isang naunag blog post ko, I'm at a loss and I find it difficult to make a decision tungkol dito. Inimbitahan kasi ako personally ng isa kong ex girlfriend sa kanyang kasal at the end of this month. Hmmm... a bit of backtracking is required perhaps so here goes...

Sila kasi yung grupo from the perennial winner sa Press Awards na yun. Mukhang matalino, mabait, at well manered.

Pati, ang magazine namin nanalo ng napakadaming awards, including Best Lay-Out, Best Cover Design.

Gwapo. Pero saksakan ng yabang. Failed ang mission ng Emissary. Wala syang nakuhang kopya from me, kahit gwapo sya at magaling chumaring. Neknek mo. Si Julianne ang second try nila.

Julianne: Hi. Congratulations on your personal awards, and the magazine's awards too. I know you are up to no BS so I'm gonna be straight with you. Can I have your number?
Me: Why? You want a copy of our magazine?
Julianne: Yes and No. Yes I want a copy because that's what Amanda and my group sent me here for, and no, not really. I want a date with you that's why I agreed to come over and talk to you.
Me: Hmmm... I can only say yes to one request. Choose carefully.

She got from her purse a folded copy of a magazine.

Me: So, it was you who got that copy na nabawas sa mag namin. I like your style!
Julianne: Is my choice obvious? Now, your number please...

Sapul! Naknamputcha! Weakness ko yun... Women who know what they want and how to get it!
To make the long story short, nakipagdate ako sa kanya. To make the long story short, nagdate nga kami, and one thing lead to another. Aaminin ko, first time ko maligawan ng babae. Yes, you read it right.

I feel for her baked goodies! Hehehehe...

Like all my girlfriends, alam nya na bisexual ako. Nahihirapan ako mag girlfriend kasi nga, pag babae sobra magselos. Pag natingin ka sa babae, selos. Pagnatingin ka sa lalaki, selos din! Naknamputcha! Nung naghiwalay kami, after almost two years together, she extracted a very "My Bestfriend's Wedding" promise from me.
I even do not make friends with my exes.

Now she is getting married and she invited me. Baby Pink at Mint Green. Whew! Nahirapan ako mag decide talaga kung pupunta or not. In the end, nanaig pa rin ang paniniwala ko sa pagmamahal. I should be happy for her. Hopefully, she has found love to last her a lifetime. Sige na nga! Tutal, most of our common friends will be attending din eh.

Now I have a different dilemma, and I need help, Batchoyan Denizens. Ang problema ko, dahil meorn ako both Mint Green at Baby Pink na barong kaya I'm caught between wearing this -

Mint Green Frosted Organza Barong with Pink Thai Silk "Sablay"

Or this -

Baby Pink Frosted Organza Barong with Green Afghan "Sablay"

Wag na magtanong kumbakit kailangang may sablay. Basta! Help me out na lang kung alin sa dalawa ang isusuot ko....

Help me out! Please?

TRANSPORMERS: DOBOL JOB Poem #3

Poem #3 in my TRANSPORMERS: DOBOL JOB folio, for submission to the UPV Sentro Ng Wikang Filipino publication. Enjoy!

Masahe Dala Putspa sa Bora
Ni Luis Batchoy
Salamat kay manding Lagring,

Kay ako nangin sagad sagad,
Sa paghuluhapulas lawas naging maanting,

Sa pag pangmasahe dala putspa, nangin mayad.

Diri sa isla, dapat mahugod.

Basta makwartahan, sudlan kag tistingan.

Kabay unta mag parehos man ako kay manding Lagring,

Basta kapeperahan, pasukin at subukan.

TRANSPORMERS: DOBOL JOB Poem #2

Here's poem #2 for the UPV Sentro Ng Wikang Filipino folio, for my collection TRANSPORMERS:DOBOL JOB. Watchathink?

Bingka Mo 'Day
Ni Luis Batchoy

Bingka mo 'day, bakal na.
Bag-ong bak-it, mainit-init pa.

Itik-itikun gid ang imo panagamsam,

Sang iyang kalum-ok kag kananam.

Ginbagahan sa idalum, ginbagahan sa ibabaw,

Sa kanamit sini, ikaw magalutaw.

May banilya ang makulukid-ol nga lubi,

Pagbakal na 'sangka puyo kag tilawi.

Ang nakatilaw sini, nagakadimat,

Ginapangita-ngita ang kanyam-is-alat.

Madahug gani kag gina balik-balikan,

Baw, gani, bingka mo ya 'day, halung halungan.

Bibingka Mo 'Day
Ni Luis Batchoy

Bibingka kayo, 'day, bili na.

Bagong luto, mainit-init pa.

Kikilitiin talaga ang yong panlasa,

Ng lambot at linamnam nito.

Pinabagahan sa ilalim, pinabagahan sa ibabaw,

Sa sarap nito, lulutang ka.

May banilya ang makulukid-ol na buko,

Bili ka ng 'sambalot at subukan.

Ang nakakain nito, nagaka dimat,
Hinahanap hanap ang tamis-alat.
Mabenta nga at binabalik-balikan,

May pagkamasiba nga yan at mahirap pigilan,

Kaya, naku, ang bibingka mo, 'day, pakaingat ingatan!

TRANSPORMERS:DOBOL JOB Poem #1

Whew! It's a good thing that I am not in a muck right now. The ever "TRUSTED" and "RELIABLE" Globe broadband went down for a whole day yesterday, after almost a week of failing and erratic connections. Due to a time off online, I had no choice but to be disconnected for a while. I went out for some brew and to brew some in my head to finish the collection. I have a working folio now, and I finished writing drafts of the poems. The collection is entitled TRANSPORMERS:DOBOL JOB! Go figure! Hehehehe. Here is one of them.

Ang Manikyurista
Ni Luis Batchoy

Si Patring manikyurista,
Huguran nga babayinha.
Sa iya ka karawkawan kag kahangkilan,
May pat-ud gid nga kasulhayan.

Imo kuko kiskisan kag tinluan,
Pahiningun dayun barnisan.
Kung linukitay lang ingron ang pagasturyahan,
Si Patring, indi gid malabawan.

Kung indi ka mag pati, pamatud-i.
Didto sya nagapamulya, hingaliti,

Dun sya naglalagi, hingaliti

Why Silent

I have not updated my blog for quite some time now. Its not that there is nothing to post about. On the contrary, there are a lot of things going on around now, and for someone who is supposedly on sabbatical, there's still much that whirl about.

For now, maybe as some sort of a blogpost check list, here are a few things that the Batchoy Man is contending with, and perhaps, will make a blogpost on, sooner or soonest.

First: A long time ex girlfriend is tying the knot, and for whatever cruel reasons, she personally invited me to witness how some guy is gonna be something I can never be. I'm still in a quandary whether to go or not. YJ alam mo to! Huwell...

Second: A very forward, aggressive, makulit and uber idealistic guy is acing like he owns me; just because I said yes to a one-time post valentine coffee date with him. The problem? He is a kid! 17 year old for crying out loud! Do I hear anyone shout craddle snatching? Worse... statutory rape? Oh, God (Republic Act 9344) forbid!

Third: Over the edge excitment, with a capital X! I am damn looking forward to my mini-break, cum pre-birthday gift, cum eheads nostalgia, cum eyeball with some bloggers, cum.... cum to cum! Ching! MANELA, Manela! I can't wait to get to manela! Hehehehe... YJ ang tickets ha!

Fourth: Speaking of Birthday's I am also in a rut whether to dish out the usual themed birthday bash, just go out with friends, take time off and do a silent day, or splurge for a trip outside the country for my natal day. I know that my friends look forward to my annual themed bash, and I don't want to disappoint. After all, this will be my big third cycle! Oh what to do!

Fifth: The UP Visayas Sentro ng Wikang Filipino, together with the Humanities Department, is coming up with a literary publication. I am being asked to send a submission. I will have to come up with a Folio of three to five Hiligaynon poems that has social relevance. I am not big on "labels" with my poems. I consider me pedestrian and commonplace when it comes to writing, but every so often, I try these "big" stuff on for size when writing my poems. I do have pieces or two ready in my corpus, but I reckon I would like to write a coordinated collection of fresh poems for this. Thus! I write. Yes! It has a deadline. March 8. Oh well...

All these, and I am on sabbatical! Hehehehe! Well then, maybe later I will compose a proper entry for one of those above mentioned concerns, but for now, I gotta have my coffee... Meanwhile, Batchoyan Denizens, enjoy this track. Not that I am in love though... it's just a Friday so... Cheerios!

PS: Saturday na pala... oh well

Daray-ahan

Of the many earthly delights that Boracay has to offer, this tops my list: A venue for poetry. But of course! The poetry inducing sand and sea; the hot scorching sun and the eternal blue skies by day; the cool moonlit evenings; these are fodder for poetry. Here's one of the many recent poems I wrote, while in the island that is poetry in itself. Enjoy

Daray-ahan
Ni Luis Batchoy

Doy, ga dali ka gid?
Updi ko di danay bala.
Inguri ko di sa maputi nga daray-ahan.
Ang imo mapagros nga pang giho

Naga uluitik gid sa akun paminsarun

Daw sa mga makulit nga balud
Sa pag dilap kag pagtulutuhil
Sang balas sa hunasan.

Pabay-an ta nga dupuy dupuyon kita,

Sang hapulas sang habagat.

Kung hinali man nga magbalusbos gulpi,

Ang hangin sang wala'y kapat-uran,

May sagang kag salandigan

Sa imo malapad nga dughan.

Magahakus kag magapangapin sa akon

Agud dili mapalid o mapukan sa pagka wara't sayud.

Pulupantaw-pantawun ta ang kahawaan,
Sa pagbatyag sang kasulhay sa kapanganuran.

Hinali man nga limbungan ang adlaw

Sang mga alupuok sang kaluibon,

Handurawon ko ang kapawa , Doy,

Sa imo maambong nga pungyahon.
Ang kasingkal sang himpit paghirup
Among magatabug sa malamig nga pag pangduha duha.

Mapautaw utaw kuntani kita
Sa mabugnaw kag esmeralda nga tubig

Bisan pa gulpi mag taas ang balud
Sang dili mapulong nga kasakit

May kaluwasan nga mapangyaputan

Sa imo makusog nga mga butkon.

Agud dili malumos sa maparat nga dagat

Kag magapayam-is sang maagrot nga kalisdanan

Bantayan ta ang pagtunod sang adlaw

Sa dagat nga wala'y katubtuban

Kag kung gulpi man mag kunop ang kagab-ihon

Sang madulom nga kahadlok kag kakugmat

Gilayon man masagap kag masalapuan

Ang iwag sang nagaililigpat nga mga bituon

Sa yuhum mo nga langitnon.

Nga maga papawa sa kadulom sang pagpangasubo.

Doy, gadali ka gid?

Updi ko di danay bala.

Inguri ko di sa maputi nga daray-ahan
Sang pag pangisahanun.
Kung naga dali ka gid,

Ti kung mahimo lang,

Dalha na lang ako upod sa imo

Dira sa daray-ahan sang imo paghigugma.

Dalampasigan
Ni Luis Batchoy

Doy, nagmamadali ka ba?
Samahan mo muna ako dito.

Tabihan mo ko dito sa maputing dalampasigan.

Ang iyong bruskong galaw

Ay nangingiliti sa aking isipan

Parang makukulit na alon
Sa pagdila at pag kalikot

Ng mga butil sa buhanginan.

Hayaan nating ugoy-uguyin tayo
Ng haplos ng habagat.

Kung sakali mang humagupit bigla

Ang hangin ng kawalang katiyakan

May panangga at sandigan
Sa malapad mong dibdib.

Yayakap at magtatanggol sa akin
Upang di mailipad o matumba sa kawalang saysay.

Titingala tingalain natin ang himpapawid,
Sa pagdama ng kaginhawaan sa mga kaulapan.
Bigla mang matakpan ang araw

Ng mga ulap ng kataksilan,

Aalalahanin ko ang liwanag, Doy,

Sa iyong makisig na mukha.

Ang paglalagablab ng himpit na pagirog

Ang syang magtataboy sa malamig na pagdududa.

Magpapalutang lutang sana tayo
Sa mahalumigmig at esmeraldang tubig

Kahit pa biglang tumaas ang alon

Ng di mawaring pasakit

May kaligtasang makakapitan

Sa iyong malakas na mga bisig.

Upang di malunod sa maalat na dagat

At mapapatamis ang mapaklang kalisdanan.

Babantayan natin ang paglubog ng araw

Sa dagat na walang hangganan

At kung bigla mang kumutan ng gabi

Ng madilim na takot at kilabot

Agaran namang mahahanap at masusumpungan

That was it

The Balentayms has come and gone, and that was it.

I am not an anti-valentine grouch. I am one in the universal celebration of love, no matter what they say, that it is an uber commercialized affair or whatever. I still believe in celebrating love. In a world where relationships come a dime a dozen; where loving within a committed relationship has slowly become and exception instead of the rule; where instant gratification is the order of the day; and where the word love is oftentimes thrown in to get everything, being in a committed and fulfilling relationship is something worth celebrating.

On the flip side, some loveless people would rather celebrate this day as Singles Awarness Day. This is all I have to say to this: Singles Awareness Day, indeed! It is on this day, when you are aware of how single you are. As in, painfully aware! Hehehehe... To all the singles who are aware of their singledom, Happy Singles Awareness Day to you too...

Now that the balenstayms day is over and done with, I happily got back home with my "Double Grand Slam" award for being dateless for the past six valentines day! Hehehehe...

I planned to post some of the pictures in my flash vacay in Bora, but will do that later. Meanwhile, here is my favorite shot, which will be my profile pic henceforth!

Scared? Hehehehe

Kumbakit may pool sa isang islang may napakagandang dagat, escapes me!

It's a date

PRESCRIPT: Please see latest blog entry for an explanation regarding this entry.

I will be out for a little night of romance and music.

Weeks earlier, my good friend Rhea, a co-editor in the College Press Conference sent me an announcement. She's helping out bunch of talented young ones promote themselves and their music. They're the Iloilo Youth Orchestra. When my kafe was still in business, she promised that one time, we will hold a concert of sorts with the kids in the kafe.

*NOTE: The promise was no more than a referral to invite IYO to perform in my cafe. In no way did Rhea misrepresent herself as a representative of the group and nothing definitive was 'promised'. She merely suggested if I wanted to invite the kids for a performance in my cafe, to which I positively responded, but it never came to pass. I apologize for any misunderstanding caused by this statement.

This time, IYO has a Valentine dinner concert at the UPV. I bought a ticket for this, and it's a date. Read about IYO here.

I'm all set for that Valentine dinner date. Nothing beats having a good night of music, good food, and extending a helping hand for the arts as well. Oh, and Rhea is a bit "teasy" with my sitting arrangements. Turns out that most people who bought tickets for the dinner concert are, shall we say, "romantically challenged". She said I just might find myself next to someone who has always wanted to talk to me about my writings. She also told me to bring a love poem that I wrote. I might just be asked to read one or two. She reminded me to spray on a little whiff for roamce, and not to forget my pen. Pun intended. Hmmm... dinner with a fan? Well see... For now, it's date.

P.S: One other friend, Rex has also invited me overr to his friend's shindig at another place nuch later in the evening. We'll see if fan boy gets to tag along. Now let's see...

Gorgeous clothes, check!
Really Nice Pants: Check!
Suave Shoes: Check!
Whiff of Romance: Check!
Love Poems: Check!
Pen: Double Check!
A night of romance, music and endless possibilities: Double Check!

HAPPY VALENTINES Y'ALL!

Chweyntipayb

Na tag ako ni Aris... and without further ado, here are twenty five random things about me. Since Valentines is fast approaching, I am giving mine a twist. I'm listing things that has something to do with love... or something to that effect. Here goes!

25. I love reading. I love books! It's the one thing I can never get enough of. Building a library is one sure thing to spend money on if ever I win the lottery.

24. If you are to fall in love with me, do not give me your world, because I will take it, y tu mama tambien.

23. I love pasta. Up to now, I still can not decide which sauce I like better; red or white. I just like pasta, that I am sure of. Oh, and my friends say I whip up a mean Carbonara.

22. The quickest way to my heart is through my brains. If you can fuck my brains out, then you're in for more fucking! Hehehehe... the other way to it, is through my stomach! Oh, to see you sweat and slave over a hot stove to feed me! This must be love!

21. I love walking under the weeping rainclouds (salamat kay anonymous sa pagwawasto ng grammar). Be it on a beach or in the metro. Wherever. When I was in High School, since I was an officer of the CAT (Battalion Admin/Reservist Head/Medics Sup./Company Ex-O whew dami no?) I had a locker all to myself. I'd bring extra uniforms, leave all my stuff in there, and walk home from school under the rainclouds. It's such a liberating experience. No, make that, I love taking long walks, per se.

2o. I like it best when you tell me you love me without saying anything. I know it must be spoken and heard but those silent moments are best understood by my heart that speaks no language.

19. I don't believe na masarap ang bawal ( what's forbidden is delicious). I have had my fill of 'em and no sir, they do not taste good at all. Nothing beats those done out of love, sweet love!

18. At my best, I love hard. At my worst, I love hardest! Etchos!

17. I think love is under rated. Call me an old fashioned fool but I think that it is when love is most out of sight that people should believe in it harder.

16. I love singing and dancing, even when both affairs are unrequited. Modesty aside, I have fair singing and dancing skills, naman. It must be the music.

15. I love writing. It is my one true love, along with coffee. Being a slave to words and poetry is sheer madness. We conceal in order to reveal more. That's poetry!

14. I think that friendship, just like any other relationship is an excess. You would be inclined to do more for these people, and you know better, but you are happier when you do. Just like any relationship, it is hard work! After all, it is an excess burden we take upon ourselves. They bring madness and sanity, each in turn, and in equal measures! I love my friends to the death!

13. I am no TV person. Though there is not much love between us, there is no bad blood either. I wouldn't mind lounging when asked.

12. I love chubs. I love eating. I love cooking. I love to be cooked for, and I love being eaten. Chos! You do the math!

11. I love traveling. I was born with a mole on my sole. Literally and figuratively, but since life happens, and it gets in the way, it's an affair for the future. There's are so many places to go to. Just you wait! I'll be there, soon!

10. I have one rule in loving that most of my friends have picked up from me. " I only ask for things that I can give when situations are switched. That is why I ask for honesty and exclusivity because I can hell give 'em any time of the day! So do not ask from me, those that you can not give me."

9. When I say "I love you", I mean it. That's why I practice word economy when it comes to this, along with the word sorry, because when I say them, I have to really mean them.

8. I do not believe in "Somewhere down the road." There is no other road. It's all right here, right now. If you have to love me, love me now, and give me everything you've got and expect no less from me. It's now or never!

7. I love my low downs. Mother John Iremil Teodoro said, that this is good for us. It makes our poetry beautiful. I welcome them as much as I welcome the high ups in life. C'est La Vie!

6. I'm a night person. As far as I can remember, even when I was still in elementary, my mom would find it hard to wake me up come mornings, for school. I love night stirrings. Not that I do not, or cannot function during the day, or that I loathe day time. It's just that I love night more than I do mornings.

5. I love my alone times even if I am not necessarily a loner. Even if its just me and a good book and a mug of coffee, I feel that it is all that needs to be done. Not that I am anti-social or agoraphobic. I am just comfortable and really good friends with myself.

4. Well, okay, I must admit, I still have feelings for all of my exes. Loathing is a feeling too right? Joke! Seriously, I still love all of them, each in turn. However, I do not fancy nor wish for any of them to come back to me. I just believe that what the heart has once felt it will always own. So, I will always continue to love them, to the very end.

3. I love my messy room. There are days when it would really look like a typhoon hit it. It is very unflattering, but using my friend's ready excuse, I say that it's not just a room; it's a house, that is why it is near impossible to keep it clutter free. I've so much stuff in here. The only thing that is always in order is my book case. The rest are all helter-skelter. I do not like to have it cleaned out by the house help because even if it is a mess, I know where everything is. I hate it when someone cleans it and I can not find what I'm looking for. When I get to it though, I'm really able to whip it up in shape. It's just not that often.

2. I love chocolates. Here in our house, they call me the choco monster. 'Nuff said!

1.I love shoes. My favorite is the black Ferragamo's my cute nephew picked for me. He asked his mom to buy me those as a "Thank You" gift for my birthday. The shoes came in a box with his scrawlings saying thank you for my taking him to the zoo when he was here in Iloilo. Sweet kid! I love it that this me-me tag is already finished before I run out of random things. Hehehehe.

Whew! Hirap nun ha! Now I'm tagging lyka, don, dawn, loven and zen bitch
